In the last report I mentioned the cold weather that can exist in our part of the country. Well, the 14th of August was certainly no exception. On this day a small group of members left Bathurst en-route to the West Wyalong Poker Run. Between Bathurst and Blayney we were hit by a severe snow storm, reducing our progress to a crawl, but the groups dedication saw us make it to West Wyalong minus one couple who headed back home.
With better weather approaching, our September ride saw a good roll up for the trip to Wellington Caves. Some great bike riding country was covered as the group ventured to the caves via Stuart Town and Mumbil, returning home via Cumnock and Molong.
The October long weekend saw eight members spend six days riding to Phillip Island and enjoying a great weekend at the Grand Prix. They returned via Morwell, Lakes Entrance, Cooma and then across the Snowy Mountains Highway, and what a magnificent ride it was.
Seventeen Bathurst members rode to the Mudgee region for our October ride. It was a perfect spring day and there is no doubt that this is the best time of year to be riding a bike. Visits were made to the Lawson Park Hotel at Mudgee and Steins Winery and Bike Museum.

From all reports the A.G.M. in Cairns was a tremendous time. The only blemish on the trip as far as the Bathurst Group is concerned was our members Steve & Carolyn Humphries being forced off the road by a road train and dropping the bike. Thankfully both escaped serious injury and minimal damage was caused to the bike.
In May the group ventured to Lithgow and payed a visit to the correctional Centre. It's a wonder that some of the groups rogues didn't get locked up.
With the cold weather well and truly upon us, our June ride saw only a few riders brave the cold conditions. We ventured west to Orange and were joined by a couple of Orange members.
Our July ride saw some more new members join our ride via Georges Ridge and Blayney. We then rode into Carcoar and met up with the Cowra group who had the same idea as us.

The groups January ride saw us venturing into pine forest country through the forest of Yetholme and Sunny Corner. We then visited Lithgow and rode a circle via Jenolan Caves and Oberon.
In February we rode to the Abercrombie Caves and enjoyed a picnic returning via Trunkey Creek.
March saw the Bathurst Group's first weekend away since re-grouping, when 22 members and 11 bikes rode to Goulburn via Boorowa and Yass. The trip saw us successfully dodging rain storms and we all arrived a little damp. The Old Goulburn Brewery was our resting place and it didn't take long for our group to forget the rain and enjoy an ale or two.
The proprietor of the brewery, Fr Michael O'Halloran, escorted the group through the brewery and gave us a rundown on its history. That evening we all enjoyed dinner and it would be remiss not to mention that our member Pat Cawes, wore an iron and a hair dryer as jewellery to dinner. I believe it may have been a protest against his wife Judy bringing them on the trip. Well done Pat.
The April mystery ride took us to the base of Mount Canobolas near Orange, and we had a number of new faces along. We rode on to the Canowindra balloon festival but were a bit late for a balloon ride, but the ride was very enjoyable.
